Noise and Vibration can render a pleasure craft at the least unpleasant to use and at the extreme,
dangerous to operate. Such vessels may fail the legal noise requirements for operation in public
waters, or their machinery may fail through excessive vibration. More often, owner/operators are
disappointed that their vessels are not comfortable for extended cruising.
Through good design and a full understanding of the structure, acoustics and machinery of a
vessel, practical noise control measures can often be obtained.
Technological Design Studios is fully capable of carrying out projects on large commercial ships,
however, we have primarily concentrated our attention in the recreational and small commercial
markets, with vessels up to 150 feet in length.
Activities cover the full range of marine requirements including new build, refit and problem
solving.
